Meet DeMaggio….

A special note from Lindsey…

Last spring our dear friend and client, Marilyn Kristjanson and I were talking about a horse for sale that I saw online. During that conversation she casually mentioned that she would be willing to be part of a syndicate to purchase a young horse for me to ride. After a few more conversations she asked me to do some research on syndication and put together a proposal.

Over the next several months, the group started to come together. I am amazed by the excitement, willingness and absolute generosity of this group who have decided to support us and be part of this exciting journey. 

For the last few years, Vickie and I have been keeping our eyes open for any interesting young horses. To find a young horse that fits all our criteria is not an easy task. When Shannon sent us the video of the recently imported DeMaggio we knew he was something special. The timing was right, the horse was right and everything came together with ease. Thank you to Jennifer Schrader-Williams for selling us this wonderful young horse. 

 DeMaggio (2011 gelding by Destano) arrived in San Diego on Monday afternoon (there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!) and he has far exceeded all our expectations in only a few days. We are in love!! 

Thank you to the syndicate group for believing in me enough to provide me with this incredible gift; Marilyn Kristjanson, Iris Haut, Barb Stroh, Merle Damberger and Jane Haslett. Thank you to Vickie and Ivars for their continued and unwavering support. Thank you to Shannon for finding this special horse and starting us off in the right direction. Thank you to Peter for being excited and willing to continue on this journey with me. I couldn’t do it without your never-ending support of my dreams. And finally, thank you to Lance, Freddie, William and all the other horses I have been lucky enough to work with to develop the skills and experience to prepare me for DeMaggio.  

I am so grateful and excited to start this next chapter with our new boy!
